All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16

Our Beliefs

The Free Apostolic Church of Pentecost, to which the church in London is religiously affiliated, is a religious institution recognized by the Greek government and as a church operates under license by the Hellenic Ministry of Education and Religion.

Doctrinally we accept all articles in the Nicene Creed, as it was established by the 318 fathers, so as to distinguish error from truth. Our charter is the New Testament it’s self, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and we believe that all scripture is Divinely inspired and beneficial (2Timothy 3:6).

The name of the church includes the term “Pentecost” as we regard that all believers can receive the Holy Spirit, as the apostles did on the day of Pentecost along with all Christians in the first Church. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has absolute authority over the church and we the believers are all servants but also His friends.

The Apostles' Creed in the New Testament

I believe in one God [1 Cor 8:6, Eph 4:6, 1 Tim 2:5], the Father Almighty [Gen 17:1, 35:11, 2 Cor 6:18, Rev 16:7], Maker of heaven and earth [Gen 1:1, Acts 4:24], and of all things visible and invisible [1 Cor 8:6, Col 1:16].

And in one Lord Jesus Christ [1 Cor 8:6], the Son of God, the Only-Begotten, [Math 16:16, John 1:14,18, 3:16], begotten of the Father [1 John 5:1-5] before all worlds [John 17:5, Col 1:17, Heb 1:1-2, 7:3], Light of Light [John 1:9, 8:12 , 1 John 1:5, 1 Tim 6:16], Very God of Very God [1 John 5:20, John 1:1], begotten [Col 1:15] not made, of one essence with the Father [Phil 2:5-7, Heb 1:3], by Whom all things were made [Col 1:16, 1 Cor 8:6, Eph 3:9, Heb 2:10].

Who for us men and for our salvation [John 3:14-17 – Acts 4:12] came down from heaven [John 3:13, Eph 4:9] and was incarnate [John 1:14, 1Cor 8:6, Eph 3:9, Heb 2:10] of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary [Luke 1:1-26, 35, Math 1:18] and was made man [John 1:14, Phil 2:7-8]. And was crucified [Luke 23:33, John 19:16,18] also for us [John 11:49,52, 2 Cor 5:14-15]

under Pontius Pilate [Math 27:2,24] and suffered [Math 27:33, John 19:16-18] and buried [John 19: 38-42, 1 Cor 15:4]. The third day He arose again, according to the Scriptures [1 Cor 15:4, Acts 10:40].

And ascended into heaven [Mark 16:19 – Luke 24:51 – Acts 1:9 – 1΄Tim 3:16], and sits at the right hand of the Father [Math 26:14 – Col 3:1 – Heb 1:3 – 1 Pet 3:22].And He shall come again with glory [Math 24:30,16:27 – Mark 13:16] to judge the living and the dead [Acts 10:42 – 2 Tim 4:1], Whose Kingdom shall have no end [Luke 1:33 – Rev 22:5].

And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life [Rom 8:11 – John 6:63], Who proceeds from the Father [John 15:26], Who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified [Math 28:19, 2 Cor 13:13], Who spoke by the prophets [2 Pet 1:21].

And I believe in One Holy [1 Cor 1:2 – 2 Cor 1:1], Catholic [Eph 2:17,18 – John 10:16], and Apostolic Church [Acts 2:42,47].

I acknowledge one Baptism [Eph 4:5] for the remission of sin [Acts 2:38 – Col 2:12,14].

I look for the Resurrection of the dead [John 5:25, 29, 6:39, 40, 44, 54 11:24, 1 Cor 15:50,53, 2 Cor 4,14, 1 Thes 4:13,17]. and the life of the world to come [Math 25:46, John 5:29, John 5:29, Rom 2:7, Rev 21 & 22]

The Free Apostolic Church of Pentecost believes and performs the following:

WATER BAPTISM, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. The necessary conditions so that one might be baptized is that they must believe in Jesus Christ and the Gospel and have repented from their sins. (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:36-39). This is performed on men and women who are in a position able to believe, repent and confess their faith. (Acts 8:36-39)

The LORD’S SUPPER, that is performed in the same manner that our Lord Jesus Christ did (Luke 22:14-21) and delivered to the Apostles (1 Cor 11:23-27). The wine and bread become the body and blood of Christ spiritually, by faith (1 Cor 11:27-30). Only believing Christians participate in the Lord’s Supper who have repented from sin (1Cor 11:28). The Lord’s Supper is performed every Sunday (Acts 2:47, 20:7).

MARRIAGE, that must be honourable according to the Gospel (Heb 13:4) and divorce is forbidden in a circumstance except that of sexual immorality (Math 5:32) and a second marriage is not allowed (1 Cor 7:11). Only death can separate a couple (1’ Cor 7:39), for that reason the Free Apostolic Church of Pentecost does not grant divorce.

PRAYER WITH OIL on the sick that can grant healing to the body. The elders anoint the patient with oil, lay their hands upon them and pray as described in the Word of God (James 5:14, Mark 7:13). It is Jesus Christ who heals the patient.

CONFESSION, by a repenting sinner before all (Mark 1:5, Acts 19:18), or in private (James 5:16), so that they may receive forgiveness from the only Saviour and Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12)

THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. The church encourages all believers to ask from our Saviour Jesus Christ, who is the only One able to anoint a person with the Holy Spirit (Math 3:11). The sign indicating that a person has become anointed with the Holy Spirit is that of speaking in unknown tongues, as it was given to the Apostles and Christians of the early Church. (Acts 2:5, 1:44-48, 19:6, 1 Cor 14:22)

The MINISTRIES. These are five and are given by the author and finisher of our faith Jesus Christ. “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, Eph 4:11“. He anoints bishops, which are also called elders, in every church (Acts 14:23). These are believing men, that must be married and have children that are also believing, under god’s submission and with a good testimony. (1 Tim 3:1-8, Titus 1:5-10).
